Take My Bones Away
In January of 2023, I broke both of my legs rock climbing. One was a simple fracture, while the other was a full compound break. My leg shattered into 6 pieces resulting in surgery, permanent hardware, and a full year of recovery ahead of me. I am a very active person with lots of goals and ambitions. Having to rest and rely on others was a challenge in letting go. During this time, there was some extra emotional drama woven into this and brought out the worst within me. I hit an all-time low in my mental health but with love, patience, empathy, and trust I came out of the other side a stronger and better person.
This piece was displayed at Studio San Giuseppe at Mount St. Joseph University in 2025 and is currently featured in an exhibit at the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Meditative Depths
Inspired by my own meditation practice, this embroidery visualizes the tranquil state of inner peace I find within. A solitary magenta figure sits calmly on a textured seabed, embraced by stitched blue and teal waters with gentle waves, symbolizing the stillness found amidst the flow of thoughts and emotions, while swaying green seaweed suggests the observed movements of the mind, and scattered pearl beads represent moments of clarity experienced in this quiet, self-made underwater sanctuary.

A Squishy Haunted Forest
This piece is a personal celebration of my two favorite things: my collection of over 100 Squishmallows and Halloween. This watercolor painting captures an adorable, fun scene featuring Squishmallow characters from my personal collection wandering through a glittery, haunted forest under the light of a full moon. The work uses soft watercolor for the eerie blue trees on a moonlit backdrop, while acrylic paint and glitter accents are applied to make the figures pop, creating a charming, sparkling, and utterly adorable squishy haunted scene.

Abstract Buzz
"Abstract Buzz" is a mixed media piece I created during the dead of winter, channeling my hopes for Spring. I used thick deliberate paint strokes to layer dynamic vibrant colors and accents.
While creating this piece, I was reminded of bees dusted with pollen from a long day in the flowers. Adding the image of a bee into the composition was therefore a necessity.

Eye-scension: To Glitter You Shall Return
In my high school art class, we were tasked with crafting a clay self-portrait house. Inspired by Surrealism, my creation was a whimsical blend of melting clocks, eyes, rainbows, and storm-filled clouds. The entrance was a giant, gaping mouth with a protruding tongue. Sadly, no photos were taken, and the piece didn't survive time.
During college, I developed a fascination with eyes, so much so that my professors encouraged me to explore other interests. Their guidance was invaluable. To celebrate my love for eyes, I embarked on a self-portrait project that showcased their intricate beauty.
Yoga and meditation, now essential parts of my life, also inspired this piece. I wanted to combine two of my favorite mediums: Prismacolor pencils and paint. The eyes, mouth, and tongue are Prismacolor on paper, seamlessly integrated into the painted canvas. I hope 'Eye-scension' ignites your imagination and invites you on a meditative journey.
This piece is currently on display in Studio 414 at the Pendelton Art Center.
